Amendment to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023 (Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities for the SY 2023-2024)

The Department of Education (DepEd) has always been dedicated to prioritizing the well-being and safety of learners and educators. In adherence to the MATATAG Agenda's core principle of nurturing learners through inclusive education and a positive learning environment, DepEd has introduced key amendments to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2023, focusing on the School Calendar and Activities for the SY 2023-2024 academic year.

Among the notable changes in the amendment are the adjusted date for the End of School Year (EOSY) set for May 31, 2024, providing a clear timeline for the academic year's conclusion. Additionally, the School Awards Committee will convene to deliberate on awards and recognition, ensuring deserving learners are acknowledged appropriately, no later than three days before the EOSY Rites. Moreover, the EOSY Break has been scheduled from June 1 to July 26, 2024, allowing students and staff a well-deserved respite after a productive academic year.

These amendments underscore DepEd's continuous efforts to create a conducive and safe learning environment for all, fostering a culture of excellence and care within the education sector. By prioritizing learner well-being and safety, DepEd aims to empower students to thrive academically and personally, embracing a holistic approach to education that goes beyond the classroom.
