Total Number of School Days for the School Year 2022-2023

The Department of Education (DepEd) has released the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year (SY) 2022-2023, reaffirming its commitment to resuming five days of in-person classes despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Republic Act 11480, which amends Section 3 of RA No. 7797, also known as "An Act to Lengthen the School Calendar from Two Hundred (200) Days to Not More Than Two Hundred Twenty (220) Class Days," the School Year 2022-2023 will officially begin on Monday, August 22, 2022, and conclude on July 7, 2023. It will consist of 203 school days, subject to potential changes in the school calendar due to unforeseen circumstances.

As the current school year draws to a close, the Department of Education is pleased to announce the total number of school days for School Year (SY) 2022-2023. In accordance with Memorandum DM-CT-2023-152, the academic year comprised a total of 201.5 school days. The breakdown of school days by month is as follows:


  • August: 7 school days
  • September: 22 school days
  • October: 21 school days
  • November: 19 school days
  • December: 11 school days
  • January: 20 school days
  • February: 14 school days
  • March: 22 school days
  • April: 17.5 school days
  • May: 22 school days
  • June: 21 school days
  • July: 5 school days
TOTAL= 201.5 days

This distribution provides a comprehensive overview of the academic year, highlighting the varying lengths of each month. It is essential for students, parents, and educators to be aware of these numbers for information and guidance.
