Shift to Blended Learning Modalities (i.e. modular distance, asynchronous)

To facilitate teachers' participation in the World Teachers' Day activities and their election-related responsibilities, DepEd has mandated a temporary shift from in-person classes to various blended learning modalities. The affected dates for this shift are as follows

October 5, 2023 (Thursday)

On this day, in-person classes in public elementary and secondary schools, as well as community learning centers of the Alternative Learning System (ALS), will transition to blended learning modalities. This will allow teachers to engage in World Teachers' Day celebrations and other related activities.

October 31, 2023 (Tuesday)

Classes will remain in blended learning modalities on this day to ensure that teachers have sufficient time for election preparations and related duties.

November 3, 2023 (Friday)

The shift to blended learning modalities continues on this day, providing teachers with the opportunity to fulfill any remaining election-related tasks.

Conclusion

This temporary transition to blended learning modalities aims to strike a balance between educational continuity and recognizing the valuable contributions of teachers on World Teachers' Day while acknowledging their role in the democratic process during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election.

DepEd emphasizes the importance of disseminating these guidelines to all concerned parties. School administrators, teachers, students, and parents must be informed of the temporary shift in class format during the specified dates. It is crucial that everyone involved in the education process understands and complies with these guidelines.

DepEd also encourages flexibility and understanding among students, parents, and guardians during this transitional period. It is essential to support teachers in their participation in World Teachers' Day celebrations and their civic duties during the election.

DepEd's guidance for the conduct of classes during the upcoming World Teachers' Day celebration and the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election reflects a thoughtful approach to honoring teachers and ensuring the success of a democratic process. By temporarily shifting to blended learning modalities on specific dates, DepEd aims to strike a balance that benefits both education and civic engagement. Compliance with these guidelines is vital to achieve these goals and show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our teachers.
