GOOD NEWS! PBBM Signs Law for Teachers' Supplies Allowance Up to 10,000

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called on legislators from both houses of Congress to continue working together with the executive branch to improve people’s lives and craft laws with foresight. This appeal was made during the ceremonial signing of the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act at the Palace on Monday.

The new law authorizes a significant increase in the annual teaching allowance for public school teachers. Under its provisions, the teaching allowance will rise from P5,000 to P10,000 starting in the school year 2025-2026. This marks the most substantial increase to date, addressing a long-standing need for better support for public school teachers. Historically, public school teachers have received allowances for their teaching expenses, which began at P100 in 1988 and increased to P5,000 by 2021.
